Set as a new building on top of an existing basement, W5e combines low space consumption, ecological demands and user-related requirements: Flexible units, rentable at a fixed price - without ancillary costs. Accordingly, the entire project was designed for low energy consumption. PVT heat pump collectors on the façades and on the roof characterise the appearance and combine PV technology with air heat exchangers. The collectors are connected to a buffer battery, heat and cold storage. The electricity demand of the office building can thus be covered by about 80%, the heating demand by 100%, and the cooling function keeps the temperatures low in summer. The building has been designed with a sustainable approach: local companies for planning and construction, low CO2 footprint of the products.
